Cabinet doors and drawer fronts are removed and finished in the spray shop, while frames, gables and other fixed components are carefully masked and sprayed on-site. Premium waterborne coatings from Cloverdale and Benjamin Moore create a smooth, durable finish backed by a 3-year interior warranty covering both workmanship and materials.

FEATURED CABINET PAINTING PROJECT

KITCHEN CABINETS, BUILT-INS AND FIREPLACE IN HAWKWOOD

This Hawkwood project included painting the existing oak kitchen cabinets, living-room built-ins and brick fireplace. The cabinetry was thoroughly cleaned, sanded, repaired and primed before Benjamin Moore Scuff-X was spray-applied for a smooth, durable finish. The kitchen received a two-tone combination with white upper cabinets and dark lower cabinetry, while the built-ins were finished in the coordinating dark colour. The brick fireplace was prepared and painted white with Cloverdale Ecologic semi-gloss, completing the transformation throughout both rooms.

CABINET PAINTING FAQS

Cabinet painting costs depend on the number and size of the doors and drawer fronts, the amount of fixed cabinetry, the existing finish, surface condition, required repairs and selected colour. After reviewing the project, you receive a detailed written quote that includes preparation, paint, materials and labour.

Painting can be an excellent option when the existing cabinets are structurally sound and you are happy with the current layout. It can dramatically update the room at a fraction of the cost and disruption of complete cabinet replacement. Severely damaged, swollen or failing cabinets may not be suitable for painting.

Cabinet surfaces are thoroughly cleaned to remove grease and residue, sanded to dull the existing finish and repaired where needed. Bonding or stain-blocking primer is then applied as required to create the proper foundation for the finish coats.

Cabinet finishes are spray-applied to create the smoothest and most consistent appearance. Doors and drawer fronts are removed and sprayed in the shop, while frames, gables, islands and other fixed components are carefully masked and sprayed on-site.

Most kitchens require approximately three to four days of work in the home. Doors and drawer fronts are completed in the spray shop and are typically returned and reinstalled around four to five days after the on-site work is finished. Timing varies with project size, repairs and the selected coating system.

Yes. Cabinet painting is backed by a 3-year interior warranty covering both workmanship and materials. The completed project is reviewed with you during the final walkthrough, and no upfront payment is required.
