Siding Painting Calgary
Refresh your wood siding with proper preparation and a colour you love.
A fresh look for your home
Whether you’re keeping a colour you love or ready for a change, freshly painted siding can make a big difference to your home. We repaint wood siding throughout Calgary, with the proper prep work to help the new paint look good and hold up.
A good paint job is about more than a new colour. It’s the care taken with the prep, the clean lines around your trim and a finish that brings the whole home together. That’s what we focus on when we paint your siding.

A new look for this Hawkwood home
This Hawkwood home in NW Calgary went from pale, weathered siding to deep navy with white trim. We power washed the siding first, then scraped and power sanded it before applying SharkSkin Anti-Peel Primer and Cloverdale Guardian Satin. The before and after photos show the difference at the front and back of the home.

How we paint your wood siding
Detailed written quote
We look over your siding with you, talk about colours and put the work in writing. If we find damaged wood or signs of a moisture problem, we’ll explain what needs attention before painting.
Wash, scrape & sand
We clean away dirt and chalky residue, scrape loose paint and sand rough edges. We protect windows, landscaping and nearby areas, and let the wood dry before priming.
Prime & paint
We use primer where it’s needed, then apply the exterior paint, paying attention to edges and even coverage. We plan around the weather and give the paint the drying time it needs.
Clean up & walk through
Once the painting is finished, we remove the coverings and clean up the work area. We walk through the job with you, check the finish and take care of any final touch-ups.
Choosing the right colour for your home
Start with the colours that are already there: your roof, brick, stone and windows. It’s worth looking at colour samples outside, in both sun and shade, before you settle on a colour.

Siding painting FAQs
Can my siding be painted instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Faded or peeling paint doesn’t necessarily mean you need new siding. We’ll look at the wood and the existing paint, then let you know whether repainting makes sense for your home.
Does all the old paint need to be removed?
Usually not. Paint that’s still firmly attached can usually stay. We remove loose and peeling paint, sand the edges and prime where needed before repainting.
Can peeling wood siding be repainted?
Yes, in many cases. We check why the paint is peeling, scrape away what’s loose and sand the edges before priming and painting.
How long will the new finish last?
That varies from home to home. The condition of the wood, the preparation and how much sun and weather each side gets all make a difference. We’ll explain the paint we recommend and how to look after the finish.
When can siding painting be done in Calgary?
We paint when the wood is dry and the temperature and forecast suit the products we’re using. Rain and colder weather can shift the timing, so we’ll keep you posted if the schedule needs to change.
