Calgary Stucco Painting

Paysons Painting is the top choice for high-quality stucco painting in Calgary. With years of experience and hundreds of successful projects under our belt, our team of skilled and qualified painters knows exactly what it takes to deliver exceptional results.

We start every stucco painting project with thorough preparation work and the use of top-quality materials. Our process begins with a high-pressure wash to remove any dust and dirt, ensuring proper adhesion of the new coating. We also repair any holes or cracks with stucco patch and take care to tape off or cover all surfaces and surrounding areas for protection against overspray. Our highly experienced painters then apply two coats of paint, using a combination of spraying and back rolling techniques to ensure a flawless finish.

We have found that the best paint for stucco is typically semi-elastomeric for most residential homes, or full elastomeric for stucco that may be in rough shape or more brittle. This type of paint provides long-lasting protection against the elements and enhances your home’s curb appeal.

At Paysons Painting, we stand behind our workmanship and materials with a full guarantee. You won’t pay a cent until we have completed the job to your 100% satisfaction. We are licensed, insured, and fully covered by WCB, giving you peace of mind and confidence in our services.

Semi and Full Elastomeric Coatings:

Elastomeric coatings are the best choice for exterior masonry surfaces. Don’t let a contractor convince you to use regular exterior latex paint because it’s cheaper. Although latex paint is a great product, it’s not suitable for stucco. The problem lies with the stucco itself, as it becomes very brittle, especially as it ages. Latex paint is not thick enough to hold the stucco together, resulting in wind blowing off pieces of stucco and requiring yearly touch-ups, which results in an unsightly paint job.

Elastomerics, on the other hand, are designed to be applied at high builds of up to 12 mm wet and 5 mm dry, which is about 10 times thicker than latex paint. This thickness bridges cracks on the surface and holds the stucco together. These materials are engineered to be breathable at the molecular level, allowing moisture to escape without blistering the finish.

Here are some top reasons to use elastomeric paint:

  1. High build material that bridges cracks, holds the substrate together, and prevents water penetration.
  2. Elastomeric properties that allow for the expanding and contracting of surfaces, reducing the chances of peeling or cracking.
  3. Breathable, helping to prevent peeling and cracking due to moisture.
  4. Excellent adhesion to masonry surfaces.
  5. Highly weather-resistant for Canadian winters and summers.
  6. Fantastic color retention. Color and gloss will be maintained longer and fade less.
  7. Low-temperature application, making it possible to paint on cold spring mornings and later into the season.

Choose elastomeric coatings for a long-lasting, durable, and beautiful finish.

Incredible. You can believe the reviews for Mike and his company. Selling a townhome and we got one other quote that was 30% higher. Straight shooter. Understood we wanted a quote on everything, then decided to narrow the scope of the job. Choosing Mike will be the best decision you make as you renovate.
Response from the owner: Thank you for the kind words and review! Im glad I could get in there and help out on the house. Best of luck on the sale and im sure it will go fast. Thanks again and all the best.

Mike painted the entire my house few years ago. Hi did walls, ceilings, doors, windows, wood stains, baseboards, etc. Hi did it with an excellent quality and very reasonable and competitive price. Now I sold that house and moved to a new house. I called Mike again to paint my garage. He did it as excellent as his previous work, with a good price, on time and good quality. I absolutely recommend Mike for any kind of painting. Thank you Mike.
Response from the owner: Thanks Reza! Its really great to get a call from a customer from long ago. I appreciate getting to work with you again. All the best to you!
